SkyRoads

SkyRoads sends your vehicle hurtling through futuristic tunnels filled with jumps, obstacles, narrow passages and other excellent reasons to keep your reflexes sharp. The objective sounds simple enough: reach the end of each course without crashing, but the increasing speed and constantly changing terrain make that considerably harder than it first appears. Different surfaces can affect how your craft moves, forcing you to adapt quickly while maintaining enough momentum to survive the next section. The colorful graphics and catchy electronic soundtrack give the game a distinctly early-1990s futuristic personality. SkyRoads is fast, simple and wonderfully addictive, especially when you convince yourself that the next attempt will definitely go better. It probably will, right up until that next perfectly positioned obstacle disagrees.

“SkyRoads was previous a shareware DOS game but has been re-released as freeware because of age (1993). In this game you control a spaceship on a track through various galactic worlds. Apart from the obvious racing which involves steering and jumping, there are objects along the tracks to pick up. There is a total of 10 different worlds each with 3 tracks. There is no extraordinary about SkyRoads but it still provides entertainment where you need to be skillful with your visual coordination.“
